CHRISTIANSBURG -- A contractor may begin asbestos removal at old Blacksburg Middle School, the county Board of Supervisors decided on Monday. The county's Department of Economic Development, which manages the property, plans to have the building torn down by February, and asbestos removal is a necessary step before that happens.
